One of the most visual experiences I've ever had. Just walk around, with no map, feel lost for 1 or 2 hours, you'll see it's worth it. I've been to Morocco twice, and Chefchaouen is one of the top 3 countrie's cities, to me.

To say the truth, it's probably the cleanest Medina in Morocco & certainy the most unique one. I loved it, from the beautiful white & blue coloured houses to the barrow streets & wonderful little shops & cafes... I should've planned a half day instead of just couple hours taht weren't enough. Really, it's not to be missed!

People should not miss this place! It is fabulous with its shades of blue throughout the maze of lanes and alleys all around the hillside and under the imposing peaks of surrounding mountains.

We visited the city enroute Fes, from Tangier. Only around 1.5 hours from Tangier Med Port by private car. Place is not so big, you can spend a few hours to look around and see the life of local people. The food at the plasa near the medina is not over priced. You can have Tajine or Couscous for just... One of the places that made the best and biggest impression on me with narrow streets, going up and down, old crafts, negotiation about the price, not overcrowded with tourists so in a way still not to commercial and maybe only place we really met local people, mint tea, small restaurants, blue all around..... Hard to reach it, we needed... More

It really depends what and how much you want to see but in my opinion Chefchaouen is the place for everybody. Its location is really impressive - on the slope of the mountain. So, generally, there is a beautiful view of the old city from every location. The old city is surrounded by almost complete set of old city walls... More

This was my 1st city to stay during the 10 day roadtrip. The center plaza is nice when you see other tourists like you with a a smile on their faces of being in a picturesque site.

Chefchaouen is a peaceful beautiful town with stunning blue and White streets, a lovely square with interesting shops full of Moroccan carpets, paintings and other goodies. Stay in a raid with a rooftop terrace and put your feet up with a book, overlook the city away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the feeling of stepping back in time... More

October 2010, The day was warm, and en route from my Fondook ( ancient travellers inn) to Bar Umo Rabie, I needed to withdraw some money and paused opposite Bab el Ain gate at the Banque Populaire ATM, inserted my card, keyed in the PIN number and waited and waited, until eventually a message appeared on the screen in French...
