It's just a short hike from the back of the church, some interesting things to see on the way like the modern cemetery with some decades-old graves. Some of the hanging coffins are visible from the cliff. If you need to get closer to the coffins, you can take a short walk down a steep path.

The whole family of 11 including the driver of the rented van started out in Lagawe, capital town of Ifugao at 09:35AM. There are many houses along the roadside, so watched out for humans and animals. The roads are not marked until you reached Mt. Polis, border of Ifugao-Mt. Province.By 10:26, we reached Banaue View Point, no stopping for pictures... More

The first time I ever saw coffins hanging on the cliffs. Though during our visit only few were left but at least we found some. Unfortunately, only one area where we had visited hanging coffins due to lack of schedule, but we;re planning to go back to explore more. I ca'nt imagine how they place those coffins in the cliffs.

How the ancestor's of Sagada thought of hanging their coffins simply amazes me. One's status in life can also be seen in the type of coffins used and also how high the coffins are situated.

The hanging coffins are really something different to see. Learning about the burial rituals (and the culture in general) of the people of Sagada was very interesting.

Hire a guide to get you the best and closest views. Other guides will even be happy to bring you at the foot of the hanging coffins. On our first day, we viewed hanging coffins on our way to Sumaguing caves. It was quite a distance to view. But on our second day in Sagada, after going to the Echo... More

When I first laid eyes on the Hanging Coffins of Segada, I was viewing them from on high, looking out over Echo Valley from the ridge in Segada. From that vantage point, and to the unaided eye, it looked like they were laying on the ground. In fact, I thought they were coffins that were awaiting being hung, as I... More
