An opportunity to witness an orthodox ceremony first hand

An opportunity to witness an orthodox ceremony first hand
Very beautiful, unfortunately it is in the restauration process
in renovation but still beautiful, many paintings and colosal construction byzantine style
If you are in Iasi and want to experience an Orthodox Christian liturgy, go to the Metropolitan Cathedral on Sunday morning (9-12 or so). The choir is divine and the service wonderful.
Under construction at the moment of speaking, but it`s worth going, if you are a religios person and not only ! Inside rests "Holy Parascheva" the protectoress of Iasi City.
The cathedral is situated in a compound including also the residence of the Metropolit of Moldavia (like a catholic cardinal). The church is monumental but quite dark and smoky. It is however free and definitely worth spending half an hour here. It also houses the reliques of St. Parascheva, a holy person for orthodox christians.
It houses the relics of Saint Parascheva, the saint protector of the city. Impressive only by its size. There is a nice park in front and the National Theater, one of the oldest in the city.
