Putna is a very beautiful place . The monastery is surrounded by forest and when we were approaching it's walls it was like traveling back in time . A trip to Putna is good for the soul , it will bring peace and calm .

The Putna monastery, founded by Stefan cel Mare voivode in XV century, is an architectural masterpiece. Wonderful landscape in which esye located, complete with museum opened in the monastery, make Putna Monastery a destination that should not miss in any route.

Although the exterior of this church is not painted and the paintings inside the church are new, visitors are allowed to take photos inside of this monastery church with payment of a photo "tax" (usually 3-6 Lei $US.90-1.80). The monastery museum (3 Lei entrance) houses extraordinary large church tapestries with intricate embroideries, as well as other sacred objects.
