Walking to the temple in the pouring rain & around Kandy lake was brilliant. Removing our shoes and getting wet through with the warm rain together with the throngs of people was a wonderful experience. We made it in good time for the 7:30pm display of the casket holding the tooth so had a prime spot right in front. Just... more

Beautifu Place, Kandy. Once you get down from the Vehicle, you at once feel the difference from all the other cities and towns of Sri Lanka. The Temple of the Tooth was really a wonderfil experience. And as I learnt later on, I was really lucky to get a good Driver/Guide in Bandara contactable through writing to cananil@yahoo.com Some of... more

Last year when staying in Negombo we had the good fortune to meet up with Suresh Fernando of Suresh Tours www.sureshtours.com..... Great guy, perfect English ( lived in UK ) honest, very helpful and very reasonably priced. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. JNW more

for buddist`s this is one of their most sacred(probably the most sacred)temple in the world.visitors are welcome and even as a non-buddhist as long as you follow some basic ettiquette your visit should be enjoyable. we had a guide for our trips around kandy but he told us that guided walks for groups(there were 6 of us) around the temple... more

We had a wonderful holiday in Sri Lanka with our trip guide, but amongst all the very beautiful places we went the tooth temple has to be one of the highlights of the trip.
