Obviously, you need to visit since this is one of the most important sites in Buddhism. It doesn't matter that you don't get to see the tooth (and that it's probably not the real deal). It's the emotional and philosophical experience at being at such an important place.

The most popular tourist spot in Sri Lanka. Gets crowded in the mornings. Best visited in the night when the lights of torches and sounds of drumming make the visit more spectacular. However if culture is not your thing, best not visited.

He was a perfect gentlemean and even though it was really busy made sure we got to see the Sacred Tooth when it came on show. Fantastic night - unforgetable...Thank you Dinesh

Beautiful Tempel with a very impressive tooth ceremony. Truly a very intens spiritual experience
The lighting at night makes the temple a really special place.
It is easy ot feel you are being conned as you are guided to a separate entrance and pay to get through. But once inside and you see local families bring their babies to the temple you realise you are actually privilaged to be allowed in this very special place
