We visited in November 2009. Cost us $133 for a family package of 5 to tour the caverns and do some of the attractions. They didn't even tell us that half the tour (waterfall section) would be cancelled due to flooding until we got to that part of the tour. Some of the attractions weren't working and many were pretty... more

We took the boys ages 6 & 8 because Costco was offering discounted coupon packages. I didn't expect much but it turned out we have a really terrific family outting. Being a Friday and a bit overcast, there were very few people there who weren't on school field trips. The grounds were lovely and there were lots of photo ops,... more

My 2 sons and I enjoyed a day trip to Desoto Caverns. It was a great day trip. My sons enjoyed the attractions more than the cave tour. Facilities were nice and clean. This would be a great place to take a picnic lunch. There is a covered brigde and grist mill near by. more

We visited in April 2009 on our way to the gulf coast. It was a perfect break from a long drive. The cave was as advertised, and very interesting, and my 7yr old thoroughly enjoyed it. We poked thorugh the gift shop and did some the many family activities, like the maze and crystal hunting, although the water attractions were... more

When you get here, everything about it screams tourist trap. That's true. Still, the caverns are really interesting and I think it's a fun place. The light show in the cavern made me laugh more than anything I've ever experienced in my life... worth the price of admission for that.... only in Alabama. ;) more

I went here once years ago on a school field trip. I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to see it again. Not only did I take in some unforgettable sights but I also learned alot from going there. They had a light show the day I went and an area set up for some "mining" of our own and... more

I've recently toured Desoto Caverns and I'll have to say the experience itself was not terrible, but..........For the fee that they charge to tour this attraction for the 45 minutes or so IS a RIP OFF!! At the time I'm writing this review, it is $16.99 for adults and $13.99 for children. I gave my wife a $50 bill to... more

The cave tour was very cool. It was well worth the price of admission. The other attractions are probably great for kids, but seemed a bit hokey. If you head this way, stop and eat at Richey's BBQ in Harpersville, AL. It is about 5 or so miles from the cave. more

I go every year to the indian festival at Desoto Caverns. There are lots of little rides for the children, great food, and indian craft booths, and the caverns gift shop is also nice. The indian dances are very moving as well as entertaining. The indians are in full regalia. I love the craft booths. And the cave tour was... more
