An amazing palace! The # 1 attraction of Mysore. Very reach in decoration, special architecture. Wonderfull stained glass work on roofs and windows. Don't miss the illumination which is on Saturdays and Sundays only! Plan to be in Mysore at these days. more

The Mysore palace is breathtakingly beautiful. Just awesome. One of the must see places in Mysore. Visit it during Dasara when it is decked in its best. Truely memorable visit. The interiors are just awesome. more

Indo-sarazin styled building designed by Henry Irwin,after the Old Palace was destroyed by fire. In 1912 it costed 4 Million Rupees.Today the Wodeyar dynasty and the state of Karnataka are struggling who the owner is. I don't mindwalking around in my bare feet, especially when there's good reason. I found this trip memorable and, being Scottish, was very interested to learn that many of the steel structures, columns, beams, etc were made in Scotland. The only thing missing was a stall selling Irn Bru! You should hire a personal guide, otherwise there's no point- aimlessly... more

visiting the mysore palace is quite an ordeal. please dont bother taking your cameras to the palace because you are asked to leave it in a locker in a room (our camera was returned to us safely). also i woud recommend carrying along an extra pair of socks as you are asked to take of your shoes and deposit them... more
