Arrived around 4PM, stood in line for 45 minutes to get a ticket, Poor crowd control. Building is Majestic. Try to visit before 9 AM, don't visit in summer Washroom facilities very poor in South Indian cities, same story here, probably due to crowd.

Had to walk on bare feet between palace and Ranimahal on burning stone floor. Crowd control is bad. Hardly can see anything with all that crowd. They say no pics inside the palace but lot of people were clicking pics. The light is so dull, especially in the Ranimahal, you can hardly see anything clearly. A lot of sections are...

Must see attraction in Mysore.. I would recommend going here in the morning... and then go on a tour of the city and come back to the palace at 7 pm when the lighting is done..Not sure if the lighting is done everyday.
my kids suffered a lot in that crowd! palace is nice! not able to enjoy the moments due to crowd. should blame general public, as they wants to see everything first and not ready to watch/ care other tourists, who walks near by.
This is must see tourist attraction for visitors to Mysore. They allow visitors inside the palace to have a look at some of the exhibits that once belonged to the state or the royal family. Be sure to check for timings. It is normally open all days. DON"T MISS the ILLUMINATION on sunday nights and all nights during the Dasara...

Truly worth the visit. Unfortunately no photo/video cameras are allowed inside, else I would have spent days at taking superb photos of those rooms.

Other reviews have said it all really. It's a great day out, the gardens are large so there is plenty of space to walk, even when it is busy.

I was able to take pictures inside without...

this is one of the most renowned landmark in south of india. The palace is turly amazing and well maintained. you can visit the inside of the palace which has a audio guided tour option. the palace is illuminated every sunday between 7 to 8.
Really awesome....this palace has everything.... historically rich, massive, colourful, charming and of course majestic. You are spellbound by the beauty and heritage...must visit for everyone. Cameras are not allowed inside the palace, hence advisable to keep it in the locker room in the entrance. There are also camel and elephant rides inside.
