Constructed as a temple for a bathing Maharaja, the architect has come up with something fantastic. The actual temple is built into the depths and surrounded on three sides of stairs, which look different from every angle.

Great stop on our golden triangle route! Was better than some of the main tourist sites as it was well preserved and very quiet. We were the only people there and took some great pictures of parakeets perched on the walls of the well. It’s about 20 minutes off the main Agra to Jaipur road so definitely take a trip... More

Excellent view of a well preserved stepwell. There was a local man who presented himself as a guide, but he was not official. His knowledge was pretty good, though. The journey outside of Jaipur is worth it, but there isn't much else along the way. Full of good picture taking opportunities.

Fascinating well, which was worth the detour en route from Agra to Jaipur. The local guide was knowledgable and keen to tell us about the carvings as well as the construction of the well. Warning - you have to pay extra if you want to take moving images, normal photos are fine.

this is an hour outside Jaipur, its best to visit when going/coming from Jaipur to Agra. it is a marvel of ancient hole digging! There are very few tourists here and you will only need 30 minutes to look around. Hire a guide for 100 rupees and he will give you all the inside knowledge about the stone carvings etc.... More

Best seen as a stop between Agra and Jaipur (if travelling with a driver - it's a bit off the main highway and not well signed). Remarkable way to reach the watertable 100 feet or so down.
