I've visited India eight times, and Jaipur four times, so had seen all the requisite tourist sights. But too often, tourists have few of the "up close and personal" experiences that Virasat Journeys specifically create. By touring Jaipur's Old City on foot, peeking into some of the temples, homes, markets and shops that would never appear on a general itinerary,... More

This tour was wonderful and educational. You will be walking through real neighborhoods and understand the development of this young, (by Indian standards) planned city. My guide was excellent and we spoke with local people under various situations (one man renovating his house, another priest at a temple and another man was very gracious to offer me some tea and... Being a single white female traveling through Rajasthan, I knew I needed a little help navigating the sights, hotels, transportation, and culture. Virasat did just that! From the very beginning of our correspondence, Vipul kindly set out to put an itinerary together for my 6 day, 7 night stay. Starting in Jaipur, I was given a chauffeured car around the... More

Akshat wanted 3000 rupees for a 3 hour walking tour. We explained that this seemed very expensive, that we had walked the city extensively and were looking for a closer look at Jaipur life. He reduced the price to 2000 saying that he would have to take off the meal with the family. The walk was supposed to be crafts... More

The walk of Jaipur's havelis and temples we had by Virasat's Akshat beat any of the "must see" attractions of Jaipur. This walk took us behind the scenes of Jaipur and told us stories of the people and culture of the place. We even met with a family in their home as part of this tour and were invited for... More

I was in Jaipur with a television production, and, needing the absolute best guides for our show, was recommended to Akshat and Vipul. These guys went above and beyond to give us a great list of options and help us find the content we needed to round out our Rajasthan filming. They know the city and the area like the... More

Virasat took us around Jaipur in the parts that weren't on the usual list, and made all the difference. Getting behind the scenes, seeing people who actually live and work in this historic city adds a dimension I didn't get elsewhere (and missed.) More

This was my second trip to Jaipur and the Virasat Journeys walking tour was amazing. The tour allowed us (a group of Massachusetts educators) to see the old city waking up, visit neighborhood Hindu temples and enjoy breakfast at a traditional home with a wonderful family. More

This was my third visit to Jaipur and I didn’t want to see only the usual tourist places. Virasat Journeys offered a heritage walk and a chance to see the temples and havelis in Jaipur. I expected to meet a knowledgeable guide who would take us round, but the heritage walk he offered was beyond all expectations. Not only his... More

The heritage walking tour provided me incredible insight into the real life and traditions of Jaipur. I was able to explore Hindu temples that I would of never otherwise been able to visit. Also, because the walk was early in the morning, I was able to watch the neighborhoods of Jaipur wake up. The tour guides were knowledge and personable.... More
