The fort was a highlight for my Jaipur trip. It was far from the hubbub of the city and also had panoramic views of the city below, and the other 2 forts - naigarh and Jaigarh. the fort was still fairly well preserved. i went with the city tour, so i did not use an audio guide. the queens' palace... more

The Amer Fort was my first fort visit in India. The fort itself and the surrounding town of Amer are beautiful. Stunning views of the fort and surrounding walls and Rajasthani landscape. It is a must see if you are visiting Jaipur. When we visited some renovation was going on. Sheesh Mahal was amazing. Intricate Marble and mirror work that even today's artists might take years to complete. more

The children loved the Traditional Elephant Ride up the hill to the Fort. Just remember to get there in the morning for this excursion as the Elephants stop their climb at noon. For folks who do not choose this, there are jeeps to take you up the hill (though not the same one). As during our last visit, work is... more
