I went to the Anokhi Museum expecting a whole lot more. I wonder if I turned right when I should have turned left. Really I just found another version of the shops I find in Delhi. Restaurant was the best part of the visit. Nice food and great atmosphere.

We are really pleased that you liked the shop and the Anokhi Café next door. However, it seems as though you did not visit the museum (which is in the old part of town called Amber, near the Amber fort). It seems to us that you visited our Shop in Jaipur (which is about 15km away from the Museum). If... More

I liked the fact that this interesting little museum is off the beaten track. The tastefully restored building houses a a great collection of hand block printed fabrics and garments. It showcases a compact history of Anokhi from its simple beginnings in the 60's through to the present. The collection also offers a glimpse of the early techniques and rare... More

I was really pleased that I took the time to have a good look round this museum. It's a walk from the place where the elephants wait to take people up to the fort. Keep asking as it's not too clearly signposted.

This was a good side trip, especially if you are into Indian textiles like I am. It was particularly interesting to see the block printing being done by hand and made for some terrific photos.

Provided that you are interested in textiles and would like to see the carving of wooden printing blocks and then the printing of fabric being demonstrated, plus a exhibition of various block-printed fabrics, then this is a definite 'must' for you. The surrounding village of Amber is quite primitive and has lots of charming wildlife roaming around - monkeys, families... More

This museum nestled in Amer town near the Kheri Gate is a must-see for any fashion and crafts enthusiast. Anohki is a brand which brings traditional Ragistani block-printing to mainstream India. This museum showcases traditional clothing to the beginnings of the Anokhi brand in the 1970s and has artist demonstrations and a small gift shop. You might, however, argue with... More

I absolutely enjoyed my trip to this gorgeous museum housed in a beautiful old mansion. The entrance fee is a nominal Rs 30 only. Unfortunately I had only an hour free so had to rush through the exhibits which are well-displayed and have plenty of information next to them. I can easily spend 3-4 hours there, soak into the world... More
