This zoo is just the right size for small children. It is smaller & holds the kids attention through the whole thing (not so large that they get tired out & bored). Can interact with some animals & feed some animals. Our two year old had a blast. more

I have not much to add to the previous reviews, in that I agree that for a small zoo it was surprisingly good -- plenty of petting opportunities, and some animals that I have never seen before, even with all the zoos I have visited over the years (e.g., the COATIMUNDI). The only problem is it's not very friendly in... more

Unlike many zoos you go to with a wide array of animals in a "natural" habitat this zoo is a very small and very interactive zoo. You get your lions, and tigers, and bears, but you also get the fun of seeing them up close and personal. In many cases you also get to feed them. (The goats, ponies, donkeys,... more

While I had read all the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor, I still didn't expect much of the Gulf Coast Zoo. I was really surprised at how well run and interactive the zoo was. You are able to get very close to the animals and feed them in many cases (I'd highly suggest buying the animal food when you pay for... more

After the poorly-managed horror of the Gulf Breeze Zoo (now "The Zoo of Northwest Florida"), this place was a most welcome find! It's not hard to find out about this zoo. They were the leading feature in the Discovery Channel series "The Little Zoo that Could." They have literally been through three hurricanes, and survived each one with flying colors,... more

This was a very cute zoo. Lots of different animals to see and feed. The animals do look bored, such as the tigers. They are in a small enclosure and all the do is walk back and forth. This is not a big zoo, which is perfect for an hour or two. I recommend this zoo. more

This is a small zoo, they don't make any claim to be the biggest, but what they do, they do very well. We decided to go at the last minute and didn't plan well, so we weren't there for any of the shows, but will plan on it next time. The kids loved feeding the animals. The zoo is very... more

We visited the Gulf Shores Zoo today and I was very impressed! Unfortunately, we were there around noon and it was blazing hot so almost all the big cats were asleep in the shade. You can get very close to the animals and the zoo was very, very clean and easy to naviagate. Any bird lovers would be totally impressed... more

It was hot, but my whole family still enjoyed it. It is a small zoo, but very clean and the staff were all extremely friendly. I didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely return on my next vacation to the Alabama Gulf coast. We got lucky and happened to see Patty Hall in the park. She treated... more
