Lucky to have visited the volcano on a beautiful day. Recommended to any one visiting San Jose but pick a clear days as people been to this place many time and never got to see the crater.

Its is hard to describe the sensation of being at the board of an active volcano, so you must see by yourself, if you are lucky enough to have good visibility, as this is a very foggy high mountain. The altitude shifts dramatically during the dramatic incline. The volcano crater looks like the moon, scorched earth but surrounded by lush greenery.

Although you need to be there by 8 AM to get the best view, it is so well worth it to see the beautiful lake and the overall view is unforgettable. I have been there several times and never regretted it.

This is not your run-of-the-mill volcano. Rather it resembles an open pit mine, not a conical geological feature.
