I have been to Costa Rica twice, for 3 weeks each time and traveled throughout most of the country. I've been several times over numerous trips to Costa Rica and highly recommend it. Great collection of birds and other animals. Very nice walking paths. more

Many of the animals are roaming freely about the grounds. Admission was around $12/person, and worth it considering the efforts they're putting forth to reintroduce many of the species to the wild. A good half day activity. more

i have just visited the zoo ave. it is nice but small. it seems that they incresed their prices a bit. i payed 15 $ US for an hour walk!! that is not worth it, in no way! more

Apparently not many tourist make it to this small-ish zoo. Not sure why but everyone should. The variety of birds in amazing and the trip is manageable to do in an hour or so. They have a quetzal which we missed in the wild. more
