We had Don Juan in mind but our hotel recommended we visit El Trapiche which offers more things to see than just coffee. This is a small family farm that grows coffee, sugar cane and bananas. Jose recommended it to us and we decided to give it a shot. It ended up being one of the best tours we took... more

This was the main reason we went to Monteverde. The tour was really fun because of the staff. Most of the guides were guys my age (22-26) so we had fun, although remaining profesional and informative. Very accommodating. Snacks and coffee (strong coffee!) were provided. This is a "must" for anyone visiting Monteverde. You will learn about the manufacturing of coffee, as well as the culture of Costa Rica. They gave all of us a free sample at the end. They even give you coffee drinks at the end of the tour! more
