Calypso's super catamaran, Manta Raya, will pass thru more than seven islands in the Gulf of Nicoya. Her Port of Call is the enchantingly beautiful, palm studded Tortuga Island where you can walk the impeccable white sand beach, swim in the turquoise waters and investigate the marine life while the crew prepares a sumptuous feast (featured in Gourmet Magazine). Enjoy dining in the shade of white umbrellas with tables covered in white linen. « less

Our guide with Calypso (who's name I can't remember) was excellent. We booked a catamaran to Tortuga, and were picked up at our hotel. The catamaran was very nice, and fresh fruit and drinks were plentiful. I didn't care for the snorkeling at Tortuga, because the water was not clear, and the gear available was sub-par. My goggles did not... More

This one day adventure was amazing! The coach ride was very comfortable and air conditioned. The boat ride was smooth and relaxing. I loved that we were offered free drinks and delicious, fresh fruit through out the boat ride. The beach was beautiful and well kept. The food was amazing. All was amazing actually. What really made me impressed is the... More

We toured from Parrita with Calypso Island Cruises in March with our two kids. They picked us up around 6 a.m. from Clandestino Beach Resort in Parrita. Considering we were almost three hours away from their offices, this was an added perk. We stopped in Jaco to pick up another party from Holland, and enjoyed conversation with her and our... More

Loved almost everything about this excursion! The only shortfall was the water quality and visibility was poor for snorkeling. The catamaran was awesome and the view of the howler monkeys on the way home was a nice addition. Food was also great as was the drinks and service.

My husband and I planned a vacation for our family of 15, one of our tours was to be on the calypso to Punta coral private reserve. We were staying at the double tree in San Jose, ready for pick up at the time indicated with no one there to pick us up. When we called they told us they... More

I went on a Calypso Island cruise a few years back in January 2007. I was travelling alone and decided to treat myself to a day on a private island. What an amazing day. The beach was relaxing and beautiful. The ship was nice and the service was excellent and friendly. I am not sure what the cost is today... More

We did this trip when based out the San Jose Marriott which means a 6.50 am pick up (although pick up didnt actually happen until 7.15) lots of things on this tour were on Costa Rica time. The bus used for the transfer ride of approx 1.5 hours was comfortable but the rest room on the bus was not working... More

We booked this trip the day before we went on it while vacationing in costa rica . There was a red tide that has been in the area for a couple of weeks prior to this trip. The cruise company does not tell the tourists this until they are at the island and then they inform you that you cannot... More

If you want to spend a day at the beach, I'd recommend Calypso Cruises because snorkeling and banana boat rides are included in the price. If you don't plan on taking advantage of those activities, then this particular cruise might be a little pricey, but still a great trip with beautiful scenery and friendly, knowledgeable staff. In fact, I'd say... More
