If there is one place to see while in San Jose, I'd say this and the oldest hotel adjecent to the plaza are fantastic! This is a big centre in the Plaza Cultural, with the gold museum on the ground floor and the other floors (included in the entrance fee) used for different exhibitions. The Museo del Oro is part of a three story basement complex accessible by steps down from the Plaza de la Cultura on the side opposite the Gran Hotel Costa Rica.
