A bit out of the way and worthehilr syopping by if doing the trip around Orosi Valley. Has the ruins of an old chiurch (1500's). Interesting side trip in Orosi Valley.
Fabulous countryside and ruins in a nice park area with good facilities. Would be nice place for a picnic or to bring kids.
We rented a car and drove there, some roads along the way were not well paved or maintained and the car rental GPS took us through villages and blocked paths on the way through the hilly, convolutional road that leads there. There were several restaurant signs along the way but we did not have lunch or stayed over there. Once... More
This is an out of the way attraction, but very much worth the trip. The ruins of the old church are located in the valley of the Orosi River and can be seen from the Mirador (lookout, scenic view) on the road from Paraíso/Cartago. The Mirador also has picnic tables, grills, benches, etc. The ruins themselves would be a little... More
We visited the ruins as part of our day trip from Orosi to Irazu (part of a loop drive). There is no admission charge. Lots of families are here for the weekend. There are many trees in the park and kids are swimming in the stream at the edge of the park. It is definitely a great spot for picnic.... More
This was such a great find! Make sure to pack a lunch as it's in the middle of a very beautiful park and you'll want to spend some time there!
I used to picnic here on Sundays with my "local" family... It's a great place to take a picnic and just have a great afternoon! You will meet locals here.
The ruins are beautiful but I think the car ride was worth it, driving through coffee plantations, having lunch at a local restaurant. It was sad to see that the most important signs were so rusted you couldn't read a word.
Costa Rica does not have many historical site, but this one is one that any visitor should visit. It is a small church in the middle of the Valley and some plantations. It is trully a magical place where a photo session would be great! Also it is a place to spend the day.
