Wonderful night, great Cook Island food mixed with European food, colourful entertainers and lots of history of the island and culture. Started out with being picked up in the bus outside our accommodation, which became our Vaka (boat). We were then taken to Tumumu's to pay and have a quick drink, then up the mountain we went with a tour... more

10:30 - 1:30 ...about 3 hours; including free pick-up at your accomodation. You are driven up the mountain to the Cultural Center (road is narrow..suggest you let them drive you up there unless you like up hill hiking). This is not a "stage show" tour, but is focused more on history and culture of the island and it's native peoples.... more

After going to an island dance night we thought that we'd done the 'cultural experience'. Then one of the other guests told us how good the Highland Paradise tour was. We visited the highland paradise cultural centre and experienced a genuine trip back in time with a guide who has family links to one of Rarotonga's first chiefs. The location is an almost 1000 year old village site . Very moving and informative and the location in the mountains is spectaular for photos and gardens. The lunch (included) was excellent... more
