They didn't "guarantee" we'd see any whales, but they said that they had a 100% success rate on the season. Our trip kept the streak alive; we saw plenty of humpback whales, a beautiful shore-line, and even a bear on the “beach”. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable. They have a nice little café at their office too.

For an up close viewing of the whales, nothing can compare to the personal service we had with TECKK Outfitters. We had our own private boat (the 4 of us, a naturalist and the captain of the boat). Spent a lot of money to see bears, but didn't see bears. Rode around in an uncomfortable packed van for 3 hours. On the plus, we saw some beautiful country and Salmon spawning. Had a bear excursion booked with another company and teckk guide service tried to steal us from the other company by bidding at a lower price and we (14 of us) were so uncomfortable that we all left with a bad taste in our mouths about business practices in hoonah.Is ther any rules or code of ethics in that town.Horrible...
