This was one of the best part of Juneau. Make the most of your time if you are an outdoorsy type. Skip the indoor part and hike along the water...there's a rough trail that goes up to the glacier, but if you don't have much time, hike quickly...there's a waterfall that's amazing. more

Don't waste your time on a tour or flying over it, get yourself in a cab or on the bus and get there. I hear it is shrinking .... reason enough to see it ASAP. There is a nice hiking trail that you can take to get to the glacier, or if you don't want to walk, you can observe it from a far. If you are taking a cruiseship, DON"T pay 50 dollars for the tour! Take the bus for a couple... more

We didn't go to the visitors center - we were too busy taking in the sites. It is something not to be missed. Be sure to get your picture taken at the overlook with the glacier and waterfall as we did. more
