The tramway at Mount Roberts in Juneau Alaska gives you a breathtaking view of the valley (town and harbor). The trip is relatively short however you can spend as long as you want exploring at the top (when the hiking paths are open). At the top there is a show you can take in if you want (one of our... If you only use this tram to get great photos it is worth it. The ride is exhilarating and the staff were very friendly and informative. It was a buzz that it was snowing at the top of the mountain when we got off. Lots of bald eagles around the top of the tramway and a beautiful eagle that had... More

Not only will you experience fantastic views, but you can get your exercise by hiking up the mountain and just getting away from it all.

The view of the Juneau area was great. They have a Bald Eagle at the top of the hill.

The tramway was a delight to see! Awesome views from up high. Also the presentation of the Tlingit culture and then the flim Seeing Daylight was excellent. We never had time to do some hiking but would love to do that next time.

Spectacular view, especially if you catch it on a clear day. The anthropology at the summit is ersatz, but enjoy it as entertainment. If you're a hiker and it's a pretty day, you'll enjoy the trails at the top. Good salmon and halibut at the restaurant. They have Oktoberfest in September (because they're closed by October). Very conventient to the... More

One rises 1,800 feet in about three-fourths of a mile and one gets an up close view from the tram of the steep, steep mountain slopes around Juneau. There is a delightful and modern resturant at the top, along with a short film depicting the culture of the original people of the area. A great gift shop, as well. In... More

The view was fantastic however would been much better on a day when it was not cold, windy and raining. We only had a small window of opportunity so we had to make it a must see. Great at the top to to warm up and enjoy the views. Would like to repeat the experience on a fine day however... More

I love to hike but if you want views with small children or mobility impaired people this is perfect.

Even though it was cold and rainy, the trip up was smooth and views were terrific. The visitor center has coffee/cocoa, a full service restaurant, a great souvenir shop, and outdoor spaces that are rugged and breathtaking.
