Unlike the previous reviews, our tour guide was excellent. He really knew his stuff, and we got to taste some of the different barley to understand where the flavors comes from. Tours are offered of this actual brewery. Brewery visitors hear about the history of Alaskan Brewing Co., including how they make their unique and award-winning beers like their flagship Alaskan Amber and Alaskan Smoked Porter. The give samples (my husband really liked that part). I was the Designated Driver so I did not partake (I'm not a beer drinker anyhow).... more

The beer tasting before the "tour" was fine. They were very accommodating with any type of been you wished to taste. The tour was a bust. The guide knew very little about brewing beer. We basically stood in one place and asked questions. There is a nice shop for purchasing logo items. (Try the beer glasses.) more
