Small boat with no more than 40 people - a plus when you saw the massive amounts of people on other boats. Short bus ride from town to the dock, but at least we caught a glimpse of the glacier along the way. Saw 2 groups of humpback whales feeding on herring. Went out on a 40 foot boat capacity 30 people . Trip was safe . Saw lots of whales , dozens . mostly humpbacks .The staff was friendly enough . The captain was drunk but not intoxicated . However he drove straight and provided us with a pleasant trip . No complaints .Overpriced as everything else in Alaska. more

A little tip: go in late june or early july- then the whales might be bubble netting. This means up to 20 or so whales will communicate and work together to catch herring.
