In August 2009 we 5 people (4 adults and 1 child) took an Orca Whale Watching Tour . First of all, the office lady named Terry(?) was very dishonest and even overcharged us for the fare, which she later admitted. A couple of minutes before we walked into their office, I called them via my cell phone to make sure... more

Boy, did we have a great time whale-watching with Orca Enterprises in Juneau, AK!! We saw 60+ whale breaches, including at least 3 sets of moms and calves, not to mention the otters, sea lions and bald eagles! Two whales even surfaced within 10 feet of our parked boat - what a thrill!! I know we were out there for... more

We booked our shore excursion independant of the cruise ship. Orca Enterprises is located on the 2nd floor of the building directly across from the port. We were met by professional staff and departed on time for short shuttle ride to our sailing vessel. We had only 7 tourists on board - the Cruise Ship excursion was in excess of... more

I was undecided about whether to take a ship sponsored whale tour or a smaller tour. I am so glad I went with Captain Larry and Orca. I had a blast on their boat and saw so many whales. Captain Larry was fantastic and so was the naturalist onboard. I believe they got as excited about seeing the whales as... more

This was the best whale watching I've experienced. We saw so many whales, and the crew was very informative. Captain Larry was amazing. The ship held a reasonable number of people. Other boats we saw were really crowded. more

Our party of six, including four seniors and a wheelchair bound person, booked directly with Orca Enterprises for our whale-watching cruise. The accessible lift van was waiting at shipside, the staff eased us down the ramp onto the pier, and the gangway ramp onto the ship was easy. Once on board there were no wheelchair obstructions. The excursion was a... more

Went on the Wed. July 29th excursion. Booked independently over the phone with Orca Enterprises. The staff was very friendly and helpful answering the dozen questions I put to them. The building for meeting was easy to find with the good directions and map given to us by the company. We were taken to the marina in a comfortable bus/van.... more

Small boat with no more than 40 people - a plus when you saw the massive amounts of people on other boats. Short bus ride from town to the dock, but at least we caught a glimpse of the glacier along the way. Saw 2 groups of humpback whales feeding on herring. This was without a doubt an amazing sight.... more

Went out on a 40 foot boat capacity 30 people . Trip was safe . Saw lots of whales , dozens . mostly humpbacks .The staff was friendly enough . The captain was drunk but not intoxicated . However he drove straight and provided us with a pleasant trip . No complaints .Overpriced as everything else in Alaska. more

A little tip: go in late june or early july- then the whales might be bubble netting. This means up to 20 or so whales will communicate and work together to catch herring. Most amazing experience of my life possibly, watching these whales work together. The crew was really jived about it too; spectacular day. I work in Skagway in... more
