A huge archaeological site with only 25% uncovered but the setting is fabulous. One negative point is that there is insufficient information available and no maps to plot your route although there is one board showing 2 hour and 4 hour circuits.

Go early, it gets very hot! Take one of the little rowing boats at the end of the jetty in Dalyan, stop at the traditional pancake house on the other side for fresh juice (great experience!), walk up to Kaunos and explore the ruins. Great to be able to wander everywhere. Fantastic ruins. Take a drink with you. Icecreams very very expensive.

a must while you are so near to the site, very interesting and we went by boat, take drinks with you as the little shop was closed

a good way to get a bit of exercise after the night before, but it a good idea to go in the morning when its cooler.The history of the ruins is interesting especially when you see how far away the sea is now.Theres also wild tortoises everywhere

You have 2 ways to get to Kaunos, the long winding road along the lake edge or driving to Dalyan and getting a short boat trip. We didnt know this !
