We knew little about sledding and stopped to learn something about it. We weren't disappointed. No snow, so we took the ride in the cart. We were impressed with the dogs! Our host was Joe Redington's son, a treat in itself. Lots of memorabilia in the little museum. I recommend the film. more

Our party of four thought we had little or no interest in the Iditarod but decided to stop at the Iditarod Headquarters in Wasilla anyway (because it was free). We couldn't have been more pleased. As the name implies, this is the H.Q. for the race, but not where the actual race is started. The real treat is the race itself. The H.Q. has a nice film about the history of the Iditarod, portraits and other information about the winners, and a nice gift shop. You can get a sled dog ride around the grounds... more
