This place is hard to describe. It has all sorts of interesting things to look at. It's part junk yard part museum part petting zoo. A great place to take pictures and escape the commercialism of Jerome. Plus it offers an excellent view! Make sure to feed Pedro Gonzales! If you bend down he kisses your cheek. more

of all the stops on a two month round trip from san antonio to l.a., this is the place my husband and i just can't wait to visit again! like the other reviewers said, this isn't the place for everyone but we LOVED it. old tools, signs, cars, trucks, engines, (worth a fortune on ebay!) there is something different around... more

This was fun and entertaining by Don “The Old Miner”. This is an old rustic graveyard of vehicles and machinery with character designed around an old mine and historic buildings. A must see if you enjoy taking pictures, there are a few animals for the kids to see. He also runs several of the very old vehicles and machinery that... more

After reading the reviews we decided to try the Gold King Mine Museum and Ghost Town. It was worth the drive up the hill and provided amusement around every corner. The layer of dust on the items in the old buildings appeared to be intentional and self conscious. Rusty and rusting machinery and metal parts lay loosely organized and were... more

It's not really a ghost town in the wild west sense. It's an eclectic collection of old trucks and antiques. If you love those things then go. But don't take kids expecting to see a ghost town. more

Save your money on this attraction, folks. The brochure makes it look quaint, but once you shell out the cash and walk through the doors, it's nothing but a junkyard. There are so many broken down car/trucks that you can't really get close enough to the buildings or the mine to take a look. Very disappointing. more

This is truly a unique place and experience, and is not for everyone. As someone mentioned before, great for "gearheads". Things are set around in a seemingly disorganized manner, but it doesn't seem to really matter. There is always a "treat" just around the next corner that makes that guy go "Ohhhh" Take lots of sunscreen and beware of the... more

We enjoyed our visit to the Museum with all the old mining equipment and vehicles in different state of condition. There is even a small petting farm with a few animals and Pedro the donkey who will beg for treats by banging his foot and ringing a bell. The "Old Guy" at museum can inform you about every item located... more

Perhaps appearing a little unorganized at first, this is a diamond in the... well, it's a big diamond. I didn't know what to expect going in since I've explored many ghost towns and mining sites. Is it going to be touristy? The answer in my case was mostly no. And that's the way I like it. My main concern was... more

We have been to Don's Gearhead Paradise twice, and can't wait to go back again. If you are looking for a Yuppie centered, artsy-fartsy polished museum for narrowminded people, this is NOT the place to go. BUT, if you, like me, are totally engrossed in the history of all things mechanical, this is the end of your search for mecca!... more
