Perhaps appearing a little unorganized at first, this is a diamond in the... well, it's a big diamond. I didn't know what to expect going in since I've explored many ghost towns and mining sites. Is it going to be touristy? The answer in my case was mostly no. And that's the way I like it. My main concern was... more

We have been to Don's Gearhead Paradise twice, and can't wait to go back again. If you are looking for a Yuppie centered, artsy-fartsy polished museum for narrowminded people, this is NOT the place to go. BUT, if you, like me, are totally engrossed in the history of all things mechanical, this is the end of your search for mecca!... more

We went for an afternoon, on a Sunday. We had wonderful weather and the price of admission was so reasonable. We had to drive down a non paved road for about a mile, I would guess. We had met with the owner previously, and we knew what we expecting. Carl is a mechanic of exotic cars, and was looking forward... more

This is a fantastic collection of AMERICAN built vehicles, machines and equipment. I would not call it a ghost town as much as a mining museum. Most of the equipment is stored outdoors and is rusty. Most of the vehicles are in terrible to poor condition with a few exceptions. but they are things you don't see every day, if... more

My father took me out there last week, and it is not worth your time!!! All of the cars besides one truck is in horrible condition, the exhibits are run down shacks with a bunch of junk in it, the mine is about 15ft. deep and there is a cheesy replica of a dead body in a hole, and the... more

We visited the Gold King Mine around 12th of May. We were in the USA for a motorcycletrip together with 30 other bikers. Don showed us his Indian bike and other stuff. It was really fantastic. When you go to Jerome, you should visit Ghost Town. regards Gerrit more

I agree. There's lots of stuff around the Gold King Mine. But to be clear: you don't get to go into a mine. There's a 10 ft replica mine shaft. There's lots of old cars and equipment, but nothing is organized and there's no signs to tell you want you're looking at. It's not bad, but there's better things to... more

We had so much fun at the Gold King Mine and Museum. When I was a teenager, I visited here with my family. My husband and I just went this past weekend and it is even better than I remembered! There really is just about something for everyone to see here. The owner, Don, collects all sorts of American history.... more

I think everyone would see something they liked at the Gold King Mine. Even an old burro liked the place, the story is that the old burro just wandered in one day and stayed. They have old minning equipment, old trucks old engines and about eanthing else you could think of. If you have a motorhome or camper you can... more
