Our landlady recommended that if were only going to visit one wildlife attraction in the area, it should be Tenikwa. How pleased we were that we followed her advice. We loved the close encounters with the cheetahs, caracels, servils, wild cats and black footed cats - it was a privilege to enter their enclosures and watch them playing and listen... more

The Tenikwa centre gives you the chance to experience some of Africa's wild cat population up close. I went there with my boyfriend in March 2009 - and went on the cheetah walk with the cats and had an excellent talk from the guides. We took up the owner's offer of a glass of wine afterwards and she was fascinating... more

This was an extra trip on our Saga holiday and one that was one of the highlights. We never expected to be able to get so close to such wonderful creatures as cheetahs having only ever seen fleeting glimpses on a previous visit to South Africa. Our guide was excellent and we made patricular mention of this visit in our... more

S.A. is fabulous but if you want to do something which will probably be once in a lifetime, go to Tenikwa. It was the absolute highlight of our holiday and Len and Mandy were so informative and clearly believe in conservation. A must for everyone - well worth the early morning. more

Myself and my 8 year old daughter visited Tenikwa in August having picked up a leaflet on the centre. And I am so glad we did as this visit turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday. To get so up close and personal with these rare animals was just amazing. Our excellent guide, Baba, showed us... more

Tenikwa, walking with the cheetahs was the highlight of my trip to South Africa. My son is still raving about it, which says a lot since he's a teenager and he doesn't like anything. You can make a day of it and include the wildcat adventure, monkeyland, birds of Eden, Lunch at Bramons winery, and finish off the day with... more

Along with Knysna Elephant Park,Monkeyland,The Wolf Sanctuary, and Plettenburg Bay Game Reserve, in The Plettenburg area Tenikwa is a "must do",even if you have only a casual interest in Africa's diverse wildlife. Here you will have up-close encounters with a variety of indigenous and endangered small cats including Black Footed Cats, Caracals,African Wild Cats,Servals, and best of all (for us at... more

Management response from
Tenikwa, Owners

Thanks for a great review. We have only been open since August 2007, and so everyone's feedback is really important to us, and if you enjoyed your visit to Tenikwa, spread the word, since our animals speak for those who have no say...
