i enjoyed visiting it would appeal more to those interested in history and our roots.it should be provided as an optional tour for sighrseeing purposes since it would not appeal to all.good for school visits since it serves as an educational visit and to the historians in putting in into perspective as to how it can become a more dramatic... The constitutional court and womens prison complex is an important part of history and a must for visitors and South Africans. Take a tour through the courts and the prisons and get an understanding of the suffering and hardship endured by freedom fighters under the horrible rule of apartheid.

We did a tour of Constitution Hill with a school group. Overall, it was fascinating, though I would have preferred to move faster through the prison section and spent more time in and hearing about the court.

The area comprises the prisons where dissenters were held: Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, and many others. There are rooms devoted to women activists as well. Super interesting and touching. Then we saw the actual room where the 11-member constitutional court deliberates and makes sure that the constitution is properly applid.

A fascinating site which includes historical and contemporary buildings. Chilling to see and hear some of the stories of the prisoners on the site. Great openness and access to the constitutional court. Unfortunately there was nowhere to eat or drink (perhaps as it was Easter weekend?).

To start with our guide had a voice for radio, liquid honey and deep dark velvet. He was charming, knowledgeable, measured and insightful - we were very impressed. The tour was depressing and uplifting... history and future possibility. What we were, what we are and what we could become. Loved it!
