It was cultural tour, so this destination was a must. I was very impressed with the very clean grounds, well maintained exhibits, large spaces and vast views. Really a space to think.

If you have 2 hours to spare in Pretoria, visit this monument. If you don't enjoy architecture and history, don't waste your time - you will be disappointed. I enjoyed my time (3 hours) because I admired the architecture, the story telling through beautiful sculptures and magnificent paintings. When you are high up the Voortrekker monument and look down below...

Lots of history for South Africans. Such a beautiful structure, and to think it was built so many years ago. The sun shines into the structure at a specific time of day, and reaches the centre of the building on the ground level inside. A must to see! I attended a choir festival which was held inside the monument, and...

I was thinking what to write about this and honestly... there is nothing good or bad. It's a building...boring as hell and basically nothing more than a few indications of colonial people. You can see this anywhere in the world.
This is purely a display of Afrikaans people in the 1800....
Don't waste your time and definitely not worth the...

Extremely beautiful and well thought out displays. Lots of symbolism and well organized and cared for displays. Armaments, tools, and all mater of personal property indicative of the by gone era's were amazing. The wall carvings showing the history of the Africaaner and the native peoples of Souther Africa was impresive. I was more impressed by the the bas releif...

Included in the entrance fee is the Voortrekker Monument, Fort Schanskop with history of the 1899-1902 Anglo-Boer War and the Heritage centre. Situated in a nature reserve established cira...

The monument building is amazing with interesting gardens around it. The museum is badly maintained and doesn't seem to have changed in the last 10 years. Some overpriced curios and food is on sale with most of the activities being advertised no longer taking place.
Located on a hill overlooking Pretoria, entry to the whole site is 190 rand per adult . Museum itself is held within the Monument over 3 floors loads of exhibits and magnificent tapestries , the external gardens are well maintained, just down the hill is the memorial to the soliders killed in the various conflicts and across from this is...
