This was a convenient stop off for us on our travels, and it was interesting to see London Bridge in its new setting. The lake itself is quite pretty, although the area around the bridge is mainly tacky shops and bars, most of which were closed down, including the English Village, which seems a shame. My Wife and i spent a whole week in Lake Havasu City and we heard that the real London Bridge is located here. We walked on it- and it was a nice afternoon by the time we got there. It was very interesting to see the original bridge all the way out here in AZ. more

This is the only thing outside of the lake the city has to offer, and everything around the bridge is falling down. The shops are closed and boarded up, it a very depressing place to visit. My friend and I visited London Bridge in May 2007 and it looks very impressive straddling part of the lake from the mainland to the island. We took the jet boat tour from Laughlin along the Colorado River...took two hours both ways with a two hour layover in Lake Havasu. The tour we took was the older one...sorry, can't remember the name but you will know because one of the companies has only been in business for one year and their boat is not so great.... more

We happened upon the bridge on our way home from the Hoover Dam and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The bridge itself (along with the lamp posts and British and American flags) is very 'classy'. That's what it is, a bridge. There are a few gift shops below the bridge, and some tourist boats, but not much else. We were there on a week day, perhaps there would be entertainment or tours for visitors on weekends. It's only an hour to Laughlin, so visit the Bridge, take a photo, take Rt 66 back through Oatman... more
