OK, the negative is that it IS slow! From Cape Town to Johannesburg takes around 30 hours, but it's pleasant from beginning to end! Lovely food, comfortable compartments, showers etc. It was a wonderful way to get to the Fairest Cape.
we traveled from Joh'burg to Cape Town by the SM Premier Class. It was a very interesting and enjoyable journey. By train you really experience the country. The facilities on board were good: we had a good sleep, meals are fine and the personnel friendly and helpful. great value, great experience!
