Amongst all the many attractions of Cape Town, do visit this small and modest museum which reflects gently but so powerfully on South Africa's divided past. It brings home the the day to day dreadfulness of the apartheid system even more than the trip to Robben Island. more

The topic for the District Six Museum is another "must" for understanding the history of South Africa. The Group Areas Act is part of a bygone era. This is definitely a good thing, and I applaud the museum for going to great lengths to keep the memory of District Six alive. However, as a museum I think it has its... more

An interesting museum with an unknown theme. The message was clear - a destroyed part of Cape Town with a lot of culture. What a bity. How would it be today? The museum it self is small enough to visit in max couple of hours. A lot to see, and even experience. more

I was taken here as part of a township tour arranged through the concierge at Park Hotel, Greenmarket Square. I would really have liked to stay there longer, as I did not have enough time to read and see all I wanted to. The township tour was an excellent way to see how many people live. It's small, a little scruffy, and easy to miss, located in a street that doesn't look wonderful, so don't come late in the evening, and watch your possessions.
