The botanical gardens were beautiful, extremely large but very accommodating to every one. We were there in the "off" Season so not a lot of color but I would imagine in its peak it is out of this world.

Situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch is internationally acclaimed as one of the seven most magnificent botanical gardens in the world. The 528 hectares estate includes a cultivated garden and a nature reserve. The developed garden displays collections of southern African plants including many rare and endangered species. There are also visitor facilities in the garden including restaurants, a nursery, a gift shop, a bookshop and a permanent Zimbabwean stone sculpture exhibition.

If you love Kew and Wisley in the UK, don't miss this place. Easy to get to and a jaw dropping location on the slopes of Table Mountain. Amazing flora and tranquil walks although you can get a guided tour in a buggy. It featured in the BBC coverage of Chelsea Flower Show this year.

It's not famous for nothing. To say these gardens are beautiful is an understatement. Take time to visit and enjoy the restaurants, picnic or hike up the ravines and gorges on the reserve. Everyone was carrying a picnic basket, people were sunbathing on the vast lawns and you could spend at least 8 hours here.
