We popped in on the way back to Oudtshoorn from the Cango Caves. It's a very pleasant wine farm and we tasted some wine and had a cheese platter for lunch. It is a very relaxing location and the menu is fine for a light lunch. The portions were large and good value. If you're around Oudtshoorn it's worth visiting.

My wife and I first learnt about Karusa wines at a recent tasting of red wines at a wine tasting in Knysna and this week we had a daughter staying with us from Sandton and so we decided to take a drive to the Karusa vineyard situated a short distance after passing through the town of Oudtshoorn. Apart from it... More

This is a great stop on your way to the kango caves. Friendly & very informative winemaker & staff that will attend to all your needs. They grow & make a whole range of excellent wines despite the harsh climate & temperatures of the Karoo. You can stop off for a selection of tapas while you have a well made... More

Karusa is the perfect spot for a lunch when in Oudtshoorn. Their wines are superb and they even produce a fantastic home brew beer . I have visited the vineyard already a few times and was never disappointed. Though the menu is rather limited, it is something different and worth trying. Their tapas platters are recommendable. Try their beer, Swartberger... More

A small wineyard really good wines, and tapas with salads are great! The only bad thing is a huge cat that was always by our side and my kids were squired, because it was scratching. Please don't have your pets as if were your home, you are paying for enjoy food and winw and it's a business not all people... More

On the way from Oudtshoorn to Prince Albert we came accross this small well run vineyard. The tasting of the wines was quite casual and without ceremony. The selection of wines was extensive. However what was absolutely amazing was the selection of lunch platters available. So tasty and fresh. The whole event was memorable. Staff were extra friendly and most... More

A pretty setting on a wine farm with a really nice lunch offering. Our kids enjoyed looking around while mother tasted wine. Definitely a better place to eat than at the Cango Caves.

Karusa was recommended as a place for lunch by the staff at Altes Landhaus, from where it is a short walk. The setting is very restful, with a fascinating display of bird life. The staff are friendly and the wines very drinkable. The light lunch menu was very tempting and delicious. Of note also is the small shop stocking local... More
