The museum is at the downtown and on the banks of Asi (Orontes) river. If you wish to imagine the wealth and luxury of this ancient city in centuries BC, please visit this private website to see the mosaic decorations of the excavated houses and not to miss the visit to the museum: http://www.pbase.com/dosseman/antakya_museum&page=all

The museum building and display is outdated yet the quality and chronolgy of mosaics are excellent , not to be missed if visiting Antakya . I am glad to hear that a new museum building is started to be constructed nowadays.

The main attraction for this museum is a large collection of Roman era mosaics. The few Hitite artifacts are magnificent. Easy to find--it is on the main traffic circle in the heart of the city.

Not only are the mosaics splendid, but the way they are shown to the public is beautiful with perfect illumination and wide halls which enhance the beauty of the works... More

Amazing collection; nicely displayed. Small enough to do in a couple of hours and impressive enough to be worth the trip. Gift shop very overpriced.

A fabulous place to view mosaics. This small museum is a treasure. Well worth your time and minimal expense if you are in the area.
