Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

This year I have been traveling around the world and decided that I wanted to take pictures to better chronicle my memories and experiences with the people and places I interacted with. I started from scratch and have been incrementally gaining skills that have contributed towards me becoming better at photography. However, I would still consider myself a beginner. While in Buenos Aires, I wanted to take a photography tour to better engage with the country and also improve my photography skills. The Academia experience was perfect for just that. For a full day I got the opportunity not only to explore and learn about interesting places in the city but I also significantly improved on some of the skills I had been learning via YouTube but its a different experience entirely to have someone who's a professional in those skills and have them correct and find tune some of the techniques that you think you know. Paloma, was my guide and she was extremely patient, fun, knowledgeable and engaging. She did a great job.

I would also suggest that if you're going to be in the city for a while that you do a photography tour as one of the very first things that you do. This way you're not only learning about the city and getting great pictures but you're also location scouting for things that you may want to come back to and experience. 100.

We took the foto futa iPhone tour on the first day of our three week visit to Argentina. We were so glad we elected to squeeze this tour in on our first day. We learned how to take pix from a different perspective and how to look at scenes/everyday items that are normally passed over with a renewed passion. We learned how to edit the photos with several apps, though we quickly found one to be our favorite. It was an invaluable tour for us as we didn't have much photography experience with our phones or otherwise. My husband, twelve year-old daughter and I all really enjoyed the tour and our guide, Palo and would highly recommend it. And I totally would've added more photos to my review, but there were too many to choose from!!! :)

I recently spent three days on consecutive Foto Ruta expeditions with Lisa and can say it was a truly delightful way to gain some insight to a city that a tourist would not otherwise have access to. There was insightful photographic guidance from Lisa.
The highlight for me was the encouragement to engage directly with local people, learn a little about their lives and photograph them. I made a few friends along the way and still in the process of sharing back the images with the subjects. Lisa was extremely patient with her time and paced the workshop according to my (slow) approach. She was generous sharing her knowledge of the city and its rich history. The time spent with the charming Lisa as a photographic guide could honestly not have been better. I would highly recommend this as an activity not to be missed for anyone with an interest in photography

Last week, my friend and I experienced the Foto Ruta tour in Buenos Aires called Street Scapes. Our guide and professional photographer, Lisa, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We toured the main cemetery there which was unlike any I’d ever visited. Reflection shots and different angles to photograph were in abundance. We also toured the market in Recoleta as well as other venues. We spent over 3 hours photographing and another 45 minutes or so reviewing our shots. Lisa’s critiques were very helpful. I’m an experienced (nonprofessional) photographer and I still learned a lot! It was amazing. I highly recommend this tour.

Yesterday my friend and I went on a fotoruta tour of San Telmo. It was a wonderful place to do the tour.

Firstly we met with Daniela at the beautiful and historic Cafe Poesia and she gave us some tips on how to take interesting shots. Then we had the chance to put this into practice around San Telmo, trying out the suggested techniques by taking photos of interesting street art, buildings, tango images, nature and people. After that we sat down with a coffee and Daniela gave us really helpful and constructive feedback on our favourite photos including how to use apps to edit your photos.

It was a really cool way to spend an afternoon in Buenos Aires. We now have some amazing holiday photos including the inspiration to take more! We totally recommend it :)

What a great afternoon we spent with Daniela, learning how to improve our photo taking while safely exploring the neighbourhoods of San Telmo and La Boca. I learned how to effectively use the settings on my cell phone. I have been able to put the learning to great use on my Antarctic expedition that followed. Knowledgeable and fun. I highly recommend this tour. Great way to see BA.

Change up the way you see and explore the city – through the lens of your camera. Foto Ruta runs a range of photo tours including private 2-3 hour photo tours in interesting neighborhoods of BA. Led by photographers, you learn the basics of taking interesting photographs and then together you got out to explore the city, looking for new angles and new details from which to understand and see Buenos Aires. Together we explored a series of streets and small graffiti parks and had a blast looking at the city through new angles - high, low, close up, far away. We both had tons of fun on the actual tour, it also changed the way we saw the city and took pictures for the rest of the trip. Overall a fantastic tour and a great way to explore BA.

We did this photo tour in Buenos Aires in early December. We did the "bohemian" tour You meet in a small cafe at the start and the guide runs through an Ipad slide show of "get to know your camera" info. This tour is really not a tour of the "regular" tourist sights of Buenos Aires. It is walking tour of neighborhoods that the average tourist really would not see and encompasses photo opportunities for the novice to non-novice to get great shots and interesting takes of street life and street art in a very diverse area of the city. Our guide was great in pointing out and suggesting framing and angles for various shots. The tour ends at a cafe for wine/beer/coffee to look over your work. Once you have done the standard city tourist tour, I would highly recommend this unique tour of the city. Especially if you would like to impress your friends with non-standard vacation pics.

I spent the day with Daniela exploring the markets of San Telmo. It was a very bright day with the sun directly overhead (tricky conditions). Daniela effortlessly guided me through tips and techniques to work with the conditions and the results were great. I had an amazing time exploring this unique part of the city and I'm incredibly happy with the photos I took and the knowledge I took away from the experience.
