Great potential for ex-pat Americans during football season. But they also charge $60 pesos to get in and everything else is very overpriced as well. And the worst of it is they do not enforce the no smoking laws - so you leave smelling like smoke. As an American, I cannot see any reason to visit this place in off... More

Noisy, crowded, smoking-smelling place!!! I wouldn't recommend it AT ALL!!! Besides, employees are RUDE as hell (specially security guys). Please don't go!!! There are TONS of nice places around Recoleta to go, don't choose this one.

This place looked filled with underage kids swilling pitchers of beer. Saw no Americans. Loud classic American rock on the stereo. All the tv's had soccer games on. We hoped to catch an NFL preseason game. This place was like any beat old dive bar in a college town in the US. Next to us was a table of 3... More

Hello, very upset with this bar's owners/administrator... It is not alloed to smok in public places in Argentina, not to say in a closed place like that! Why do this people not inforce this in El Alamo? People smoking like in 70's, tired to ask security guy to make people to stub out their cigarettes, but it seems not so... More

They have upgraded the menu to include Tacos, better burgers with seeded bun, fresh cut fries and awesome home made salsa, so worth trying when in need for some good American food, and to find a sporting event on nice TV´s. Fred

Place is always full of loud American college students. I can find that back in the states. No beer selection and food quality is mediocre at best.

Not sure what happened to some of the other reviewers but my visit was very enjoyable with the only negatives being too much smoke and the bathroom was in need of maintenance. The crowd was mostly young professionals probably 30 or more girls and guys. I did not eat any food but saw several people eating and they sure seemed... More

don't be surprised if you don't see even a woman here. El Alamo is a classical Buenos Aires gay's hotspot. Mostly crowded by gay men over 45 looking for fun.

Satellite TV throughout this dive of a bar makes for a perfect American-football watching experience. The beer can be ordered in various sizes (even three sizes of pitchers, the largest of which was bigger than an ice bucket) and was cold and enjoyable. However, DO NOT COME FOR THE FOOD. The burger I had was tasteless, the nachos were just... More

The bartenders are all from NY, they got bacon and eggs for those trying to get rid of an early morning hangover, and their food is decent with good ole´cheeseburgers and BLTs. You won´t find many porteños here, but it´s a cool spot to hang out at especially on Wednesday nights for some reason. They beer is cheap and the... More
