This place is great! It's a community where people live and work, but that's only part of the bigger picture. It explores arcology which is architecture plus ecology to develop a way for people to live in consideration with the environment and natural resources. The tour is informative, though it seems they have different guides - any tour is better... more

I arrived to Arcosanti late in the evening last month with my boyfriend. I had wanted to visit for quite a while and was quite excited to finally arrive. It is located in a very peaceful area despite it's proximity to the highway. Although it was dark, from what I could see it looked really amazing and I was looking... more

First allow me to apologize for any unpleasant experience you may have had, especially if it was something we could do to improve our service. I would like to address your complaints, most importantly about "bedbugs." I distinctly remember this complaint because it was so unusual. After receiving your message about the possibility, we quickly hired an expert to inspect...

We enjoyed a visit to Paolo Soleri's architectural experiement of Arcosanti very much. It's a very odd place in the sense that it would have been totally relevent and up-to-date in the 1970s but now it has a slightly sad and dated hippy commune feel complete with organic herbal teas and hand-made wind chimes. What Soleri is saying still makes... more

I love sites/museums that showcase architecture and Arcosanti has been on my list for year. And while it is a unique and interesting place my first encounter with its resident/workers was hardly visitor-centric. Upon arrival to this site on a Mesa, about an hour outside of Phoenix my friend and I headed for the shop/visitors center. This is at the... more

Thank you for visiting Arcosanti. I would like to address your complaints. It seemed you had a poor customer service experience. I assure you that we are looking into our Visitor Center's customer service practices, but based on your review, I think I might be able to give some insight. Our Gallery is the place to check in for tours...

Arcosanti is an oasis in the desert. A grat place for single travelers or families with kids-not just a hotel or hostel but a very friendly community with very cheap rooms and excellent food - including vegetarian and vegan meals (and beer) while I was there. The views and hikes are amazing and so is their eco friendly farm with... more

We stayed at the "Sky Suite" at Arcosanti during a recent visit to Arizona. What a great surprise! For those who don't know, Arcosanti (----) is an architectural project in the central desert between Phoenix and Flagstaff. They give tours, have an onsite cafe, make and sell fabulous wind chimes and now, also provide a small number of lodging spaces.... more
