There is no way that doing this trip by road can be as good as by train. In fact all the tourists in minibuses were photographing the train as it went past. I noticed in Salta it was very difficult to find information and book tickets to the Tren a las Nubes. I suspect, the reason is that there is only one official agent allowed to sell tickets.
