Papapapaitai Falls (phew! A tongue twister!) is a pretty amazing waterfall and the view is pretty cool from a rather small lookout point. I'm glad it was part of a stop on my tour with Pete's Island tours since I initially had plans to just take a taxi there but it is NOT worth that kind of 'single stop' trip!... More

Our driver picked us up at 9.45am and we got back to the hotel at 5.30pm. Don was brillant showing us all around the island getting us back down to the wharf for the fishing contest weigh in where we enjoyed a drink and snacks.

We were travelling by local bus from Maninoa to Apia and as there were only tourists on the bus at the time, the driver kindly pulled over for a brief three minute stop for us to all walk over to the viewing point and take pictures of the beautiful (and amazingly huge) waterfall

Whilst this waterfall has Samoa's highest drop/fall and it offers a nice asthetic view, we probably wouldn't say you need to go 'out of your way' (like we did) to see it! If you're passing by (on the Cross-Island Road) sure, stop and take a few snaps but don't pay a taxi driver or take a drive just to go... More

I'm sure it's great: I could hear the water but there was no visibility! I saw Sopoaga from a distance later: that was probably similar.

We did a tour with Petes island Tours (highly recommended) and he drove us to this waterfall (the biggest in Samoa) and what a beautiful sight! Highly recommended.

A good lookout over falls that are a fair distance away on the other side of the valley but can be pretty impressive in wet season (Nov - March)
