Only open on the weekends, check their website for more, accurate info. Drive about 5 miles on maintained, dirt road, sometimes can be a little tight a rough but we saw little cars making the trek. Also, we went around 2 pm and as we waited on the side of the road for our friend's to show, we noticed a... More

I love going to the Desert Bar. It is such a beautiful area and you are really out in the middle of the desert. Highly recommend taking out of town visiters there. Sandwiches downstairs are very good. Good bands, horseshoe pits, only open on weekends and it's not open during the summer. Oh and they only take cash.

5 miles over a 4X4 road sits an oasis in the desert. Oasis in the man-made variety. Built single-handedly, little by little this funky bar grew in the desert over many years. First a hang out for 4-wheelers and bikers who could actually find it and later for anyone who wanted to torture their vehicle. We first visited the Desert... More

Looks like a very cool place. We went on April 1, 2011 which was a Friday so it wasn't open. Sign at beginning of road stated their hours. OPEN SAT AND SUN FROM HIGH NOON TO SUNDOWN... CLOSED JULY AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER. Considering the location the hours are exactly right... I would highly recommend a 4 wheel drive or off... More

I make a trip @ least once a year for the past 10+ years. Yes, on holiday weekends its crowded & parking... More

The owner is absolutly the biggest a..hole we have ever met. He is obnoxious and extremely rude. He has no problem taking your money tho. He screams out constantly that they sell beer only and when we tried to joke with him he told us very rudly to move along, he had customers waiting. The parking lot is an unorganized... More

My guidebook didn't tell me that there were set days to visit the bar, and neither did the sign at the start of the road out to it. We tried to visit in Dec 10 and had assumed that even if the bar wasn't open that it would be possible to walk around and take some photos - we were... More

The bar in the desert is a fun place to drive your 4X4 to; the surrounding trails are an adventure to say the least. You will find the facility to be a cobbled up array buildings that offer unmarked curbs and off camber walkways that could grab your feet and throw you to the ground at a moments notice. Clearly... This is really more of an “Attraction”, than an ordinary bar where you simply go to get a drink. It must be experienced to be fully understood. I very seldom go into ordinary bars, but this place is different. At least for me, alcohol is not the primary attraction. Personally, I really like this place. Some others may not find... More
