I read the many negative reviews before decideing to go to the Skywalk and I have no idea what the negative people are talking about. It was a absolutly wonder experience. After reading about the dirt road we rented an SUV but it wasn't necessary. The 6 miles of dirt was well maintained and graded. In reading the reviews I... more

Just returns from visiting the Skywalk last week. We were discouraged by the Venetian Hotel concierge to drive there on our own unless we are driving a 4X4 or 4 wheels drive. We ignored it and drove there with our rental sedan. The drive was not too bad, the rough part of the road last about 20 mins, as part... more

My fiance and I were in Vegas the week of November 24th, had a rental car and set out on the spur of the moment on a Sunday morning to explore the areas around Las Vegas. The rental company had provided a sheet with directions and distances for attractions so off we went. First was the Hoover Dam, about a... more

I really wished we would have read these reviews before making the trip to the Skywalk. The road was pretty bad. When we arrived at the facility, we were stopped by a young lady directing us to the parking lot. Her first words to us were...so what did you think about that drive up here? To us, the most disappointing... more

Though the dirt road was pretty bad, it was not the biggest disappointment. Finding out what the fees were - this was the biggest one. You have to park your car well before you can see the canyon and then take a bus that the reservation owns and be driven to 2 view points. That's it. $43 per person. Want... more

Grand Canyon Adventure, Series 3 Hummer Adventure Tour, Skywalk Departs: 6:30 AM Returns: 4:00 PM (approximate) Price: $259.00 This is the tour I took and while pricey it was entertaining, educational and comfortable. Our tour guide Scott picked us up from our hotels for an all day excursion. Dirt roads were no problem in a Hummer. and with 5 passengers... more

Well if you must go, helicopter in, it will probabley prove cheaper in the end, its like a scene from a war zone, helicopters buzzing in and out, buses herding people from one point to another, marshals prodding you on, hidiously expensive and then the skywalk itself, its miniscule, no more than 30feet from the rim edge. Its dusty, crowded,... more

So I'm going to agree with most of the reviews here. Myself and 5 friends decided to hire a car to drive to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas. We chose the west rim because it was closer. We had some idea that it was going to be expensive, so not a total surprise. But the road leading up to... more

My partner and I have just arrived back from our honeymoon, which encompassed many of America’s cities! For our stay in Las Vegas we decided to hire a convertible and drive to the skywalk stopping at Hoover dam and maximising the beautiful scenery as we go by. When we arrived at what looked like the entrance to a notorious Cuban... more

This was the biggest disappointment of our trip. You pay $75.00 to board a dirty bus to the "Skywalk". You can't take any photos, but they'll take them for you at $30.00 a pop. It's advertized as being "4000 feet above the canyon" when in fact it's only a few hundred feet to the ground below. If you want to... more
