My Husband and I went to Hoover Dam from Vegas and figured we drove this far what is 2 more hours. We ventured to the Grand Canyon or the eastern part of it. It was spectacular the views were breath taking. The only downer is you can not drive to it you park and pay then are bussed to it.... more

While in Vegas, we booked Grand Canyon Tour Bus to West Rim. Cost was $100 for bus tour plus additional $39 for skywalk ($139 per person). I read many reviews of the Skywalk and Grand Canyon West before our trip and found almost all of them to be negative, apart from those who had hired a 4 wheel drive or Hummer to get there. Everyone seemed to prefer the South rim which we last visited 14 years ago. However I was determined to 'do' the Skywalk.... more

We drove to the Skywalk from Las Vegas - the 14 mile treck on the rough dirt road to the Skywalk was an experience in itself! On arrival we were quite surprised at how expensive it was to enter - at $75 each we thought it was overpriced. The guy on the desk advised that $40 was for the bus... more

After reading all the negative reviews, we had almost decided to drive to the much farther South Rim. Due to time constraints, we went ahead and risked the 2 1/2 hour drive and went to the skywalk. Their website clearly states all the prices and rules(No cameras) and also gives very clear directions so I really do not get all... more

The drive out to the Skywalk is pleasant and very scenic, despite the dusty gravel road, but that's part of the fun for us Brits on holiday in the US. BUT we would not pay the admission of $80 each: $43 for the coach ride from the visitor centre to the Skywalk and $32 to go on the Skywalk itself... more
