Arrived at sunrise. A pair of T-Mac II Lowtops. KPMG T-shirt and PVR windsuit pants. 2 Protein bars, 1 Gatorade. Determination. Patience. 5/8 mile marker. Burning calves and thighs. Sweat-drenched. 1 mile marker. Lungs heaving. Blistered fingertips. Cramping toes. 1.2 miles later. The top of the summit. Beautiful views of the city of Phoenix. Satisfaction. Exhilaration. Now...the return. more
