A great place for hiking & viewing red rocks. Great little hikes with small amounts of people. Red Rocks Pass required.

The drive from Flagstaff through the canyon is beautiful and displays a wide variety of scenery. From the forest highlands of Flagstaff it descends (at times steeply) through a river canyon with twists and turns that offer some excellent vistas. As you reach the bottom it slowly changes into the dramatic rock formations for which Sedona is noted.

My husband and I drove through Oak Creek Canyon on our way to the Grand Canyon. It was breathtaking. It was so beautiful. I was so worried that my husband was going to crash the car because he was taking in the sights. He didn't. The road was qutie winding and very few guard rails but it was really great.... More
