Last August's flood put a lot of rock, mud and vegetation over Havasu Falls. The Tribe has worked diligently to restore the trail and bridge from Supai to the falls. The plunge pool below the falls had some cleanup work. Phase 1 is completed. The campground is operational. Hike in and have your gear packed, or ride a horse down.... more

If you want to see the falls and not deal with the problems associated with the Indian reservation, do this trip in one day. Take the helicopter in, hike down to the falls and then fly-out. Supai village is a dump. There's garbage strewn about everywhere. The main tourist attraction in town is watching a bunch of locals wait around... more

My hubby had mentioned wanting to visit the Grand Canyon some time ago, and one Saturday morning I sat down at the computer to plan. At that time, there was no "limit" how far in advance you could book rooms through Xanterra, so I reserved the Harvey Suite at El Tovar two years in advance. That's where I wanted to... more

January 24, 2009 Reviewer: J.Kaiser in Waldo Maine In 1968 I hiked down Havasu Canyon from Peach Springs to Mooney Falls and back, with my boyfriend - in just one day! The temperatures were moderate, otherwise we could not have accomplished it. We started from the canyon rim at Peach Springs at 6:00 AM, checked out the village and Havasu... more

My class hiked down there on our summer trip to Arizona and it took us 10 hours which was torture, especially in the 120 degree heat, which I think slowed us down. The hike down is exciting but long. I felt like we were almost to our destination when we were only about a quarter through. I would really suggest... more

I have been to Havasupai seven times now, with the latest trip being in mid June of 2008. I helicoptered out last year, but decided I wasn't getting the true havasupai experience unless I hiked out. I have hiked in and out every other time I've gone. The hike to the campground is 10 miles, not 12 miles as previously... more

Havasu and Mooney falls are only a few miles apart on the same tiny river. Their remoteness makes it a bit of a chore to get to them, but it also keeps them from being over commercialized. It was uncrowded and gorgeous beyond words. Pictures do not do it justice, like most of the great places on earth. If you... more

I planned this trip to havasu falls for my family and me. I called the place three times to make sure my plans were a go. I was told that the hike would be about three to four hours and that the hike was moderate to medium. We walked for 12 miles and it took us over six hours to... more

We went there several years ago on a trip to work on buildings and other projects in the village of Supai. We slept in tents, bathed in a creek and used port of toilets. I would have thought myself crazy, but every morning I opened up my tent and sat there and stared at the walls of the canyon and... more
