I recently visited Tombstone, by way of New Mexico. The place was cool and there are some great authentic attractions like the Bird Cage, and a few original saloons. I do question the authenticity of Boot Hill Graveyard. It is to neat and clean, and there are to many notable names within close proximity of one another. It seemed to... more

OK is it real, is it fake, etc Who cares. The wife and I travelled 6000 miles to see a bit of the 'West' so called in on Boothill on the way to Tombstone from Tucson anyway. The main thing was I enjoyed it and took some photographs and it was free. If like us you are travelling thousands of... more

My husband and I visited Boothill Cemertery and Tombstone, AZ the first week in June. We love visiting here! Everyone, and I mean everyone at Boothill and Tombstone are the most friendliest people I have ever met. I think there is alot of historical information offered here. I guess everyone views historical sites differently. We absolutely enjoyed our visit and... more

State Highway 80, just north of Tombstone The earliest pioneers of the area began burying their loved ones -- and some not so loved -- on a small hill in 1878. Over the next six years 250 people would be laid to rest on the hill -- and 12 actually died of natural causes. The cemetery remains at its original... more

Boot Hill is another one of those attractions designed to separate tourists from their money. It is moderately interesting simply as a re-creation of something that was a real site in the past. However, it is not the actual Boot Hill graveyard. The actual graveyard is/was located where the Circle K sits on the approach to town. Actually, when they... more

Although I believe many guide books list this as a free attraction, I remember being asked for a donation on my way in. In return, we were given a little booklet with names and causes of death for the people buried in Tombstone. The booklet was fascinating...in a way, more interesting than the graveyard itself! I wandered around reading it... more

Not authentic - Not impressive - not worth any of your time. I realize people will pay to see this mound of dirt with mostly false graves - as they have for years. If you feel you have a choice - think this one over - this is of less quality than the OK Corral. more

Wasn't sure what to expect when we pulled up to boot hill. Figured it would be an old run down cemetery with broken tombstones and half dug graves. Instead it is very clean and well organized, having been restored in the recent years, but this takes some of the appeal away. Each grave is marked with rocks and for $2... more

We visited in the beginning of January, 2008, and the wind was so cold it chilled you to the bone! Other than the weather the site is as described by previous posters... the graveyard seems a little "commercial" with the identically marked graves but I see why it was done that way.. I enjoy the authenticity of a "ghost town"... more
