We visited the mining experience, and really enjoyed it. Ex miners guide you around the mine, which adds to the authenticity. They are regular guys form the area, and conduct the tour in a down to earth manner. I strongly recommend anyone visiting the area to go, the tour lasts a good hour and is money well spent. You really... More

I have never been in a mine before. Although this is not in the bowels of the earth as it is bored into the mountain. We got a real good feel for the difficulty working conditions for this type of extraction of coal. The legend of the Arigna Miners lives on.

Really enjoyed the tour. Having former miners conduct the tour adds so much, and the whole thing (exhibits, mine area, cafe) is very well put together. If you're in the area I definitely recommend a stop here. I can see that kids would love the experience of putting on a hard hat and going down into the mine. Plus the... More

There was avery steep hill up to Arigna but when you get up there the view is pretty great. When we went inside and booked a tour the staff were nice and friendly and we watched a short film about Arigna. Then we put on out headgear and followed our guide down into the mines. The male guide we had... More

I visited here over Easter with my husband and three sons ages 11, 9 and almost 3. It was incredibly interesting and the staff were extremley friendly and welcoming. The Tour Guide was an ex-miner himself which made the tour even more interesting as he had, literally,hands-on experience himself of the workings of the mines. There is a small coffee... More

Really enjoyed the Arigna Mining Experience tour. It lasted about 45 min but it felt like 5 min to me. It was fascinating. The tour guide was an old Arigna coal miner himself. I would highly recommend it. I also picked up a rather inexpensive toy minters hat for my nephew in the shop too. We happened to be there... More

A very Interesting experience. Tour given by ex miners who completed the factual tour with anecdotal events. The site of the museum is a hill top where the views of the countryside is worth the trip alone. Well done for a great experience
